What Matbanken stores
We store your account details, food and app preferences, recipes, lists, meal plans, shopping items, imports, collaboration records, and operational events needed to provide and secure the service. Nutrition profile information is optional and is used only for the features you request.
Local-first storage
Signed-in devices keep an encrypted-by-platform or browser-isolated local copy of synchronized product data so core features work offline. Pending changes and queued files stay on the device until uploaded. Signing out or switching accounts instructs Matbanken to clear that account's local database and media cache.
How data is used
We use data to synchronize your devices, deliver requested imports and AI analysis, support collaboration, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and improve product reliability. We do not sell personal data or use recipe contents for third-party advertising.
Processors and transfers
Hosting, object storage, email, error monitoring, and optional AI processing are provided by contracted service providers. Only the data necessary for each operation is sent. Production providers and international-transfer safeguards are documented in Matbanken's maintained processor register.
Retention and deletion
Sync change history and idempotency receipts are normally retained for 90 days. Operational logs and backups follow documented security and recovery schedules. You may export your data or permanently delete your account from Settings; backup copies expire through the backup lifecycle.
Your choices and rights
You can correct profile data, control optional nutrition and media-download preferences, export your data, revoke connected access, or delete the account. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, restriction, portability, objection, and complaint to a supervisory authority.
